Museo Egizio: La Lega prende posizione contro il direttore Greco per presunte discriminazioni razziali

Andrea Crippa, the Deputy Secretary of the League, has launched an attack on Christian Greco, the director of the Egyptian Museum in Turin, calling for his resignation. Crippa’s comments come after Greco stated, “Evaluate me objectively. I have been here for nine years, we aim for one million visitors, and we are working towards the bicentennial. I am baffled by the political attacks.” Greco also invited Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to visit the museum.

Crippa recounts a past incident where Greco offered a discount exclusively to Muslim citizens, prompting Crippa to call on citizens to flood the museum’s switchboard with complaints. Greco filed a lawsuit against Crippa, resulting in a guilty verdict in the first trial, but an acquittal in the second trial, ultimately winning the case. Crippa accuses Greco of managing the Egyptian Museum in Turin with an ideological and racist bias against Italians and Christians. He claims that Greco only provided discounts for Muslims and never for those of other religions. Crippa insists that Greco should be immediately removed from his position, suggesting that he should resign as a gesture of dignity. Crippa finds it unbelievable that after managing the museum in an ideological manner, Greco now requests to maintain his position under the center-right government.

Crippa emphasizes that the Egyptian Museum in Turin is funded by citizens, yet Greco only listens to the left. He accuses Greco of being racist against Italians and Christians, and urges him to resign immediately for the sake of his reputation.
