Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ divorce is becoming increasingly complicated. Initially, many didn’t believe the rumors of their separation because they always appeared to be very much in love and supportive of each other. However, as time goes on, more details are emerging that reveal the perfect couple that fans adored was not perfect at all. Just a few hours ago, Sophie filed a complaint against her ex-husband Joe Jonas in an attempt to bring their two daughters back to England, where she believes they should be, as Joe is currently keeping them in New York with their passports.
According to PageSix, on September 21st, Sophie Turner filed documents in court requesting the immediate return of their two daughters to England, claiming that they are being unfairly kept in the United States by Joe Jonas. Sophie also stated that she and her ex-husband had agreed to raise their daughters in her home country. In fact, on April 10th, the family had relocated to England, which is why they had sold their house in Miami. The documents further reveal that the marriage suddenly ended on August 15th after an argument, and Joe filed for divorce on September 1st. Sophie claims that she only found out about the divorce proceedings four days later through the newspapers.
In the court documents filed by Turner, it is stated that two weeks after the divorce, the couple met to try and resolve some issues. Sophie demanded that Joe honor the agreement they had made regarding the transfer of their daughters to England. However, Joe refused to hand over their passports and allow them to go to England with their mother. Following these statements, Sophie decided to take legal action in England for violation of custody rights.
In response to these accusations, Joe countered through his spokesperson. According to the singer, this lawsuit goes against the amicable co-parenting that they had both tried to establish. Jonas also emphasized that the girls have been in New York with their mother and that he supports raising them in both the United States and England. Finally, Joe’s spokesperson insinuated that Sophie tried to move the legal proceedings to the United Kingdom in order to permanently take their daughters away from the United States.
