Graziano Scagni and Antonella Zarri, the parents of Alberto, the man who killed his sister Alice in front of her house in Genoa Quinto on May 1, 2022, spoke out against the trial process. They claimed that all witnesses were not heard and questioned whether there was a conspiracy, although they did not provide further details. They expressed their belief that there cannot be justice after such a trial and mentioned the presence of bias.

Today, after the closing arguments from the prosecutor Paola Crispo and the defense lawyers, the judges will retire to the deliberation room to issue the verdict.

The prosecutor had requested a life sentence, while Scagni’s lawyer argued yesterday for a partial mental disorder plea, arguing against the maximum penalty.

“In this case, we have witnessed experts who have worked diligently and conscientiously, while others have been manipulated for convenience. A partial truth is being reconstructed, and not everyone has been heard. And we want to say something, even if it may seem provocative: thank you, Italian justice, thank you, emergency services.” After the murder, the parents filed complaints against the doctor from the Mental Health Center and the operators at the emergency call center who received the father’s calls on May 1 but did not send any police cars. The prosecutor has requested the case to be closed, but the parents, represented by lawyer Fabio Anselmo, have objected, and a hearing needs to be scheduled for further discussion.
