Stasera C’è Cattelan, the new late-night show hosted by Alessandro Cattelan, will premiere tonight, September 26th, on Rai 2. The show will air after Francesca Fagnani’s Belve, and the first guest was supposed to be Belen Rodriguez. However, her presence has been denied due to unforeseen circumstances.
During an interview on La Volta Buona with Caterina Balivo, Cattelan revealed that Belen will not be appearing on the first episode of his show. “Belen was supposed to come, we were all in agreement. We had spoken a while ago, and she said, ‘We’ll sing a song, we’ll have fun…'” Cattelan said, imitating Belen’s Argentine accent. “But then she stopped answering the phone, just like Lukaku,” he added, comparing her absence to the unexpected transfer of football player Romelu Lukaku from Inter to Roma. Cattelan also mentioned that Belen is not in the best of health and wished her a speedy recovery.
Before Cattelan clarified Belen’s absence, the website of Davide Maggio had speculated about the reason behind it. It seems that Belen had been in talks with another Rai program, Domenica In. It is possible that she preferred to be interviewed by Mara Venier on that show to discuss recent events in her private life, including her breakup with Stefano De Martino and her new relationship with entrepreneur Elio Lorenzoni. It is still unclear whether Cattelan or “Aunt Mara” will have the opportunity to interview her first.
