X Factor 2023: Morgan confermato come giudice – Scopri il motivo
X Factor 2023: Morgan remains as a judge despite controversy
Despite the recent controversy surrounding Morgan, he will continue to be a judge on the upcoming season of X Factor. Antonella D’Errico, evp content of Sky Italia, addressed the issue during the press conference for the new edition, which will premiere on Thursday, September 14th at 9:15 pm on Sky Uno and will also be available for streaming on Now and on demand through Sky Go.
D’Errico explained that Morgan’s decision to donate half of his fee to Casa Arcobaleno, an association that supports young people who have been kicked out of their homes due to their coming out as gay, has made his apologies more meaningful. This gesture comes after Morgan made homophobic remarks towards a spectator during a concert in Selinunte.
D’Errico acknowledged the importance of addressing this issue, which she referred to as “the elephant in the room,” and emphasized that Sky condemns all forms of homophobia and is committed to promoting inclusivity. When asked about the amount of Morgan’s donation by Adnkronos, D’Errico did not disclose the specific figure but stated that it was a “significant” amount. Morgan himself later explained that the donation will be used to renovate four apartments, which will be dedicated to accommodating young people who have been rejected by their families due to their sexual orientation.
To conclude the discussion, Sarah Varetto, evp communication and inclusion of Sky Italia, confirmed that the donation has already been made.
